Universal Mounting Instructions
General Information
All of the supporting structure is universal in that there are no rights and lefts.
The sunshade struts may go on either side and brackets likewise. The brackets may be installed in multiple positions; they may be clamped to the front or back of ROPS leg, The slotted bracket flange can point forward or backward & can flip to the outside or inside. Usually when the struts mount on the inside of the ROPS legs, the bracket leg will go on the ROPS front side with the slotted flange looking forward. In this case the U bolt would be coming in from the other direction. (opposite as shown) Note to dealers: you can save time on future installations by noting what set up works best with different models. .
STEP 1: Using the U bolts provided, mount the brackets to the ROPS leg so that the slotted flanges are a maximum of 34” apart. For ROPS under 30” wide mount the flanges on the outside. Position flanges on the inside of the ROPS when over 30” wide. Hint: Try to determine where you want the shell position front to back in relation to the seat. This may give you a feel for how the brackets will be located.
STEP 2: Mount struts to flanges Use the 5/16 x 1 ¾” bolts, flat washers, lock washers & nuts provided.
STEP 3: Place shell on top of the struts & re-
STEP 4: Attach the shell to the struts with the (4) ¼ x 1 3/4” bolts. Push the bolt up through the tubing, put a large 1/4” flat washer on, a 1/4” lock washer & then nut. With the bolt heads on the operator side you will be more safe from an accidental scalping.
STEP 5: When you have everything where you want it, tighten securely, but DO NOT over tighten the shell top bolts. DO NOT deflect the large washers with excessive pressure.
